If your wedding reception is indoors, most venues are air conditioned so there is no issues with melting.  If your reception is outdoors we recommend you ask the venue (or delegate someone) to place the chocolates out just before your guests are seated.  There are also other options for distributing your favours such as having someone walk around with a basket full of your favours and handing them out or you can even arrange for the chocolates to be placed on your guest's hotel room pillows.
